From Innate Immunity to Inflammation: A Primer on Multiple Facets of NF-?B Signaling in COVID-19

Nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-?B) induces the expression of many pro-inflammatory genes, including cytokines and chemokines. In past decades, a wealth clinical as well animal model-based studies have demonstrated association deregulated NF-?B signaling pathway with progression various inflammatory diseases, bowel disease (IBD), multiple sclerosis (MS), chronic obstructive pulmonary (COPD). Given conserved role pivotal regulator gene expression, different components are proposed major therapeutic targets against these diseases.
